Safety Tips by Don Redding, MSF Certified Rider Coach

Maximum Velocity Motorcycle Club of Tallahassee, FL Road Rules

All members are responsible for themselves and for riding at a pace that they are comfortable with. There should never be any pressure felt to keep up with anyone else in the group. Route changes are never made without waiting for the entire group.

The club pace will be determined by the road and traffic conditions.

Concentrating on smooth riding style will compensate for many dangers riding at higher speeds. Avoiding hard, late braking when entering corners and maintaining smooth exits will improve our riding skills and reduce our risk at the same time.

When riding at speed, maintain at least a 2-second gap between you and the rider in front of you.

If the rider behind you flashes his headlight, move to the right and hand signal him to come around you.

Passing on the right of the rider in front of you while sharing the same lane is not allowed at any time.

Be aware of the headlights behind you and notify others if that rider is having problems or has pulled over.

Signal the rider in front of you if you are leaving the group for any reason, and make sure your signal has been received.

Maintain a staggered group formation at all times
